Attending one of Dr Katherine's event isn't about motivation, because we all know motivation lasts for as long as we love a new outfit. Dr Kat's events are about education, because the more you know, the less you fear, the less you fear the more you grow. For most of us, life is like a roller coaster. One day you’re up, and one day it feels like you couldn’t have fallen any lower or harder. And that’s what the retreat is all about:
Acknowledging the good days, but also preparing for the days that blindside you and throw you to the ground
Learning to deal with situations with less emotion and more brain power
Understanding why you behave the way you behave
Understanding why you think the way you think
Understanding why you feel the way you feel
And so much more (as you probably already have guessed!)
The retreat is something that is still impossible for me to describe – but the one thing I can promise is that the retreat will be: confronting. Probably not what you want to hear in a world of quick fixes and diet plans, but it’s the truth.
"I attended a two full day 9-6 Body Confidence Retreat with Dr Katherine and a group of amazing courageous women. I had no expectations of the weekend and thought maybe I'll get some new dieting advice and gym motivation, which I couldn't have been more wrong about (but for the best)! I'm so glad for Dr Katherine for sharing her story about her personal body confidence struggles to allow many of us in the room feel normal and voice our own😘. This weekend I have learnt that not only am I too hard on myself and my body but so many of us are! We're quick enough to compliment others, compare ourselves to filtered and airbrushed models on Instagram and put ourselves down, which I found really sad. Please note that this is a DAYTIME RETREAT and no overnight accommodation is provided. We will provide snacks, however please bring your own lunch (it is very difficult to cater to ensure everyone’s dietary requirements are supported).
