What would you give up to be beautiful?
“How much money would you want for your eyes?”.
This is a recent shock-driven advert to remind us to get our eyes checked (and p.s. it worked).
It made me think: what would we give up to be beautiful?
To be the weight we always wanted to be? To no longer have cellulite? To have flawless skin? To have thighs that don’t touch?
Would you give up your job?
Would you give up your marriage?
Would you give up your house?
Would you give up your kids?
Would you give up an organ or a limb?
Would you give up the second half of your life?
What is your answer?
But my question really is, will beauty really give you what you want? Will beauty bring your life true meaning? True happiness? True connection?
Perhaps your answer is yes, or even a “hell yes what do you know #bi$atch”! But more often than not, beauty is rarely the only ingredient missing in this complex recipe we call life.
So tonight, something to consider: write down all the ingredients you think you need to have a truly meaningful, impactful life, then rank them in order of their impact.
Is being beautiful really that important? Or is it just a cherry on an already delicious sundae?
